About The Fairway Foundation
The
Fairway Foundation was founded in 1993 by members of the 3M Championship
(formerly the Burnet Senior Classic), the Minnesota Golf Association
and the Minnesota Section of the PGA. It was recognized that bringing
golf to urban youth was a way to develop positive life skills and
values. Since the organization’s inception, we have serviced
more than 5,000 urban youth with experiences that will serve them
into adulthood and throughout their lives. We operate independent
of our founding organizations and are a 501(c)(3) charitable tax-exempt
organization.
The
Fairway Foundation's structured programs enable youth to make responsible
decisions and contribute to their own future by putting a great
deal of emphasis on the positive attributes intrinsic to golf. The
values inherent in the game of golf: honesty, self-reliance, sportsmanship,
and integrity – help build life skills that can positively
impact any life, especially a young one.
